Maria Mendez serves as Product Requirements Specialist at Element 74, where she helps shape the evolution of the Jumbl platform by translating real-world client needs into clear, actionable product requirements.
Maria brings over 14 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, with a deep background in domestic and sexual violence services, training, and technical assistance. Her career has spanned direct service, program management, training and curriculum development, and systems implementation, giving her a uniquely people-centered lens through which she approaches technology and product work.
Before joining Element 74, Maria served in leadership roles at organizations including the Colorado Coalition Against Sexual Assault, where she helped onboard the Coalition Manager system and became a resident platform expert, and later created an online learning center that remains in use today. Her work is consistently centered on making complex systems and information accessible to the people who needed them most.
That same instinct drives her work today. As a Product Requirements Specialist, Maria collaborates across support, product, and development teams to gather client feedback, write user stories and functional requirements, and ensure new features are thoroughly tested and clearly documented before they reach clients. She serves as a bridge between the people who use the platform and the teams who build it, keeping the end user’s experience at the center of every decision.
Maria holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master of Arts in Media Psychology from Fielding Graduate University. She is also bilingual in English and Spanish, which has informed her commitment to accessibility and clear communication throughout her career.
Outside of work, Maria is training for her next race, crocheting with Bob’s Burgers on in the background, or deep in a true crime rabbit hole.
